Job Description

Brandon Global IT provides IT consulting, support and management services to its business customers in many market sectors. With the head office in Dublin and offices in Galway, London and New York, Brandon has become a leader in providing IT compliance audit services to small to medium sized service organizations in Ireland. The requirement for such an audit is driven by guidelines outlined defined by the Central Bank that financial institutions operating in Ireland are expected to comply with. With a focus on aligning our services with the customer requirements, Brandon has earned a reputation, which results in most of the new business coming from referrals.

THE ROLE (FUSION Project) - 18 Month Contract
The objective of the project is to create our own Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform, customised according to our clients’ requirements and tailor the outputs for specific sectors and compliance requirements for which we already have a strong understanding.

Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by Brandon Global IT to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with Ulster University. As part of this role you will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role. The company will fully support you throughout this by factoring in the required time off to attend modules and workshops.

Job Objectives

• To carry out the tasks outlined in the project workplan and liaise with your Company and Academic Supervisors on an ongoing basis.
• To convene and service monthly technical meetings with the core project team (Graduate, Company Supervisor and Academic Supervisor)
• To report formally on a quarterly basis on progress with the workplan to a Project Management Group (PMG), this includes the assigned FUSION Consultant representing InterTradeIreland.
• To train staff so that the new technology is fully transferred and embedded in the company
• To work closely with the academic partner and travel to the academic institute as required.
• To undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, attending course modules and workshops.
• Any other duties which might fall within the general ambit of the post.

Skills Required

Essential Criteria
Candidates must possess
1. Degree (BSc/BEng) in Computer Science or closely related equivalent
2. Legally permitted to work in the EU.
3. Experience of programming languages, and management of the software development process and lifecycle.

Desirable Criteria
1. Honours Degree classification: 2:1 in Computer Science;
2. Significant professional experience in software development including experience of programming languages, and management of the software development process and lifecycle;
3. Experience in one or more of: data analytics, secure computing, asset identification, assessment of security risks and vulnerabilities, technical identification of security threats, user and network behaviour assessment, real-time reporting, dash-board visualisation techniques, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
