Job Description

Irish Rollforming manufactures and supplies roofing & cladding products including Box & Corrugated Sheeting, Tile Effect Sheeting, Shiplap Sheeting, Galvanised Steel Purlins, Steel Flashings, Gutters, Clearlghts, Insulated Panels, Insulated Gutters and Insulated Clearlights. The company supplies single skin sheeting and insulated products to customers throughout Ireland in the agriculture, light industrial and commercial sectors.

THE ROLE (FUSION Project) – 18 Month Duration

The main objectives of the project are:
• Design and development of a range of innovative decking profiles for composite flooring that will allow greater spans and flexibility in high rise commercial and domestic buildings.
• Development and control of supporting documentation, including but not limited to warranties, load tables, sales brochures, technical literature, data sheets and technical drawings, for both new and existing company products.
• Development of standard procedures to support new manufacturing processes undertaken by the company including but not limited to Laser cutting, Plasma cutting, CNC machinery and architectural insulated panel manufacture.

Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by Irish Rollforming Ltd to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with the Southern Regional College. As part of this role you will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role. The company will fully support you throughout this by factoring in the required time off to attend modules and workshops.

Job Objectives

Main Duties
• To carry out the tasks outlined in the project workplan and liaise with your Company and Academic Supervisors on an ongoing basis.
• To convene and service monthly technical meetings with the core project team (Graduate, Company Supervisor and Academic Supervisor)
• To report formally on a quarterly basis on progress with the workplan to a Project Management Group (PMG), this includes the assigned FUSION Consultant representing InterTradeIreland.
• To train staff so that the new technology is fully transferred and embedded in the company
• To work closely with the academic partner and travel to the academic institute as required.
• To undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, attending course modules and workshops.
• Any other duties which might fall within the general ambit of the post.

Skills Required

Essential Criteria

Candidates must possess:
1. To hold or have been awarded a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with a minimum of 3 year experience in a manufacturing industry.
2. Proficient in using CAD
3. Proficient in Microsoft office.
4. Legally permitted to work in the EU.

Desirable Criteria
1. Experience of a manufacturing environment
2. Knowledge of structural engineering or design.
3. Demonstrated ability to successfully work in fast paced owner managed environment
